Salaam, all.
"Gala Night"
has been a success. One of its objectives is to introduce the contestants of 2013 Sabah State Level Unduk
Ngadau Kaamatan to the audience/public.
40 districts, 40 young
stunning girls.
Interestingly enough, at this
stage contestants were introduced in a marvelous and glamorous evening gown parade (no bikini, puh-lease!).
They were styled in a fully sleek styling, moderate make-up (unlike the traditional
attire session) and mesmerizing step as in the international beauty pageant
stage.
Natural beauty? Not
really. Some of the participants applied thick makeup. A seven layered
foundation to eliminate whatever which is not supposed to be seen. Very thick I
tell you...ouch! Natural beauty is
all about enhancing your features. A sheer foundation or tinted moisturizer,
mascara and some lip gloss is perfect. You can experiment with more intense
looks at night if you wish, maybe a smokey eyes or a bold red lip. Whatever you
decide highlight one feature and keep the rest of the makeup simple. Okay, I am
not an expert here. Beautician, would you mind taking my place?
What I'm trying to
convey here is the selection of the winners on that day. It is well understood that
the organizer has provided some subsidiary awards such as Miss Natural Beauty
(Tati Topiodo) and Miss Friendly (Tati Tosuau). A new category introduced this
year is the Best Creative Design Dress.
In the Best Creative
Design Dress category, the recipient is Ms. Immaculate Lojuki (Kota Kinabalu
district representative) in which her dress was designed by Mister Peter Boyd
Pensin. As expected, this dress won this category. Well predicted by me, yeay! Fabulosity!
I leave it entirely to
the jury to select the winner of the Miss Friendly category, because I'm not
really familiar with the selection methodology.
(Alright, this is a
'tough paragraph')
Meanwhile, Miss Natural
Beauty... went to Penampang? Hmmm... I was wondering, what makes her win this
category. There are better alternatives, for example the representative from Klang
Valley, Tuaran, Kota Kinabalu, Semporna (just to name a few) who are naturally
NATURAL. Only the judges who knows better, kan? Tidak apa, jangan buat spekulasi. Itu namanya rezeki. Correct or not, darling?
Tahniah Miss Penampang, muahh!
Tahniah Miss Penampang, muahh!
In a general perspective,
all I can say is there are people who are very good looking naturally but still
nobody likes to be with them, and there are people who look only average but
get along very well with most of the people around. They are the life of a
party, star member of your friend circle. There is nothing wrong in using
cosmetics for improving your looks but at the end of the day, you still remain
your natural self for others. Their perception towards you remains almost the
same. Being good is natural beauty all about.
Anyway, congratulations
to all recipients. You are all gorgeous. Cantik-cantik
bah!
Sincerely yours.
Sincerely yours.

Kalau diikutkan, memanglah bah ada yang lagi cantik. tapi, rezeki memihak kepada penerima tersebut. mungkin juga beliau secara semulajadinya cantik? hakim yang lebih bijaksana dalam menilai.
